One of the Algarve most popular and most attended fairs returns to Faro this month. The Feira de Santa Iria runs from 20 to 29 October at Parque de São Francisco in near the marina in Faro.

Feira de Santa Iria is one of the oldest traditional fairs in the region. It is said that this fair goes back hundreds of years, as it is mentioned in a manuscript of 1596.

The fair has a carnival feel with rides and attractions for the entire family: Ferris wheel, bumper cars, little boats and thrill rides. Local businesses and artisans provide information on services and sell hand-crafted products. Food products from across the region are available for dining, snacking or taking home.

Parque de São Francisco is just southeast a little from the marina in Faro. It is next to the Museum of Archeology (Mueu de Arqueologico)
