Portugal has been named among the seven top European Union member states to acquire residency or even an EU passport.
According to an article published by Forbes, several channels are described for non Europeans to gain a legal footing in Portugal.
The American publication not only highlights investment in real estate via the popular golden visa programme, but also gaining residency by making a donation to scientific research or Portuguese art and culture or retiring with a minimum pension of €1,200 a month.
